The first time I heard about the Lumia, the new Nokia mobile, I was mesmerized by the fact that Nokia has developed a new UI for their mobile. Little did I know it was a Metro design. Recently, we were involved in the wireframe and design of an exclusive metro website and metro mobile app. The challenge was to understand the principles of the metro UI. In power systems, operation and maintenance (O&M) plays a significant role in power generation, transmission and distribution (T&D). Generally, maintenance is performed in a defined period of intervals in order to take preventive action before a major failure occurs, and also to reduce downtime. Currently, engineers frequently face challenges in reducing equipment downtime. The real challenge in operation and maintenance is applying the appropriate solution at the right time to prevent failures, or at least to reduce downtime.
